Department faculty is responsible for the Medical Examiner’s Office in St. All are teaching hospitals affiliated with Saint Louis University: Saint Louis University Hospital with 316 beds, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center with 190 beds, St Mary’s Health Center with 525 beds, and the John Cochran VA Hospital with 355 beds. Participation by residents in research and teaching is encouraged and expected. Subspecialty training for all residents is provided in diagnostic electron microscopy, immunopathology, cytopathology, coagulation, microbiology, blood banking, neuropathology, forensic pathology, hematopathology, gastrointestinal and liver pathology, and pediatric pathology. The emphasis in this program is on broad training within a university medical school environment for the resident interested in the hospital practice of anatomic and clinical pathology. The Department of Pathology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine offers a four-year ACGME-accredited Pathology Residency Training Program leading to combined certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. ![]()
